CITB provides grants for construction industry employers who provide training for their workforce. The Grants Scheme helps the industry maintain high standards, making sure people are being trained in the right skills for the industry to thrive.
All employers registered with CITB can apply for a grant with CITB.
Grants are available to employers of all sizes, whether or not you pay a levy to CITB. However, please make sure you are up to date with your Levy Returns before making your application. This rule applies to all employers seeking grants for their employees.
What grants are available:
Apprenticeships
Long qualifications
Short qualifications
Short courses
To help support with rising costs of training you can now receive £60, £140 or £240 for short course achievements from 1 April 2023.
Short courses include:
Health and Safety Awareness (HSA)
Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) and Refresher
Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) and Refresher
Receiving payment:
Money is usually paid within four weeks of an application being made if it is successful. Grants are paid by bank transfer.
If CITB do not hold your current bank details, please complete and submit the secure online Bacs Direct Credit Authorisation Form to receive grant payments.
