Construction Design Management (CDM 2015)

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 place specific responsibilities on duty holders, including designers and contractors, and make them accountable for the consideration and management of health and safety in construction work. This CDM Regulations course has been designed to provide learners with practical knowledge of key duty holder requirements under the new CDM Regulations.

This training course will provide practical guidance on how to ensure health and safety in construction and help those working in construction to understand their role (and the role of other stakeholders) so that work can be carried out collaboratively. This course explains the main risks to health and safety in construction and sets out specific requirements for a wide range of topics and hazards under CDM that apply to all construction sites and work.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Identify the main risks to health and safety in construction.
  • Identify the duties and roles of the main duty holders in the CDM Regulations, including clients, principal designers and designers, principal contractors and contractors.
  • Recognise the additional duties placed on clients, principal designers and principal contractors.
  • Recognise the duties placed on those who manage or control construction sites in relation to named and specific activities.
