Understanding Health and Safety Law

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), offers a Health and Safety Awareness Course (HSA) that will provide you with the knowledge and understanding of:
- the need to prevent accidents
- health and safety law
- how your role fits into the control and management of the site
- risk assessments and method statements
- performing safely and asking for advice
- how to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident
It provides a practical summary of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues. It identifies the delegate’s responsibilities for looking after themselves and others, outlines the employer’s duties and explains what should be done if the worker thinks that anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.
The course is an ideal foundation for those wishing to obtain a CSCS Labourer, industry site card.
Following successful completion of this Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) Course, you will receive certification that is valid for 5 years.
